Mount Cristo Rey, El Paso, TX (December 2006)

While in El Paso for Christmas 2006, we went with Rudy and his family on a walk up Mt Cristo Rey, a small mountain and pilgrimage site very close to the place where Texas, New Mexico and Mexico meet. Atop is a 33 foot tall statue of Christ. Unfortunately, it has been the site of muggings of pilgrims, and is not considered safe to travel alone. We went as part of an organized walk for the Christmas.
